Product Journey: How I got started with Rivista.App
It's my first journey of building a product from start to now where I haven't defined the end yet.
It's been a while since I made up my mind and took the plunge of starting with making a product. The journey, it's been amazing so far. But today's story is all about how and what got us started.
The Beginnings
It all started back in November 2021 when we at Team Codesign were pretty happy with the progress of how we were doing as a UX design agency.
A small happy team
Working on the type of projects we loved as a design team
Growing steady
Working from home, cafes and more...
And then...
Dayanand came back into our lives with a project in his mind.
Wait... a new character. Daya... who?
Well, he was one of our clients from the past. We had worked together on a project where things didn't work out well as we'd expected.
The first project we worked on back in 2019 didn't see the light because of COVID and the lockdown scenarios but we had a great working relationship and we kept in touch.
So 2021 was about to end and back he came up with a new idea which was nothing but the foundation of what Rivista turned out to be.
There were assumptions, anticipations and excitement.
And the best part, it was all in his head.
The thing which I liked the most about working with him was FREEDOM.
Yes, it's hard to find people who will give you a complete runway to run with your set of ideas and framework by showing complete faith in you.
I remember it took some time in our initial project but a week into we already had that trust which allowed me to work with 100% freedom.
I mean, what better can you crave as a designer...
But this time Dayanand came with a surprise. And it was hard to deny.
This time, instead of just taking this as a project, he asked me if I'd like to venture in. All in.
I heard him out while he did the same. We sat down and listened to each other, and before complicating it even further, I said yes.
That was the call from my gut and I never go against it.
A couple of days later he named it Rivista and it was way too cool for me to deny. It means "Journal" in Spanish. And after it's a journal of reviews and the professional journey of your career.
......
Well, that's how it began. Today after quite a wavy ride, Rivista is up and running on web.rivista.app.
Next time, I will talk about the initial steps and the mistakes we made.
Till then, cheers and do let me know about...
